Loving & Living With Flat-Faced Dogs
Many of you know that in a past life I bred and showed French Bulldogs for decades. During that time I also worked for two French Bulldog magazines which gave me the unique opportunity to meet and learn from many of the world's experts in dogs. In many cases I was able to interview them and I treasure those experiences.
In 2000 Howell Books, now Wiley, contracted me to write the French Bulldog book for their Happy, Healthy Dogs series. It was an honor. I was especially proud to be able to help Frenchie owners have a breed resource, as the internet was still getting started as the go-to for everything.
Now, 20 years later, French Bulldogs and many other flat-faced dogs have exploded in popularity. While the internet has infinitely more information now, it can still be hard to separate the fact from fiction.
Brachycephalic dogs are usually fun-loving, hoots to live with. But their flat-faces and bully bodies can lead to health problems. Knowing what to expect before you bring that wiggling bundle of love home can be invaluable.
Many people have fallen in love with the cute Frenchie they saw in a celebrity's arms or saw a Bulldog skateboarding on YouTube and had to have one. This book's purpose is to give you more information about the flat-faced dog breeds to help you make an informed decision prior to bringing one into your life. It is also for those who already have a flat-faced best buddy and want to know some of the secrets to keeping them safe and healthy.
While there are potential inherent issues found in many flat-faced, especially bullies dogs, that does not mean they ALL are health or genetic disasters. I have to call BS on some of the histrionic I've read about these loving dogs. But, forewarned is forearmed and if you know what to look for and how to prevent mishaps from occurring, your dog can have a happier and healthier life.
In this book, I share lessons learned from decades of being immersed in these breeds and hours spent picking the brains of many kind mentors. It is with great love for these breeds and those who have devoted their lives to them that I wrote this book and I sincerely hope you will benefit.

Springer Spaniel Nose Butter
Our eight and half year old E.Springer Spaniel suffers from nasal granularmatosis. We treat it with steroidal cream in the AM & a healthy dose of nasal butter in the PM. It seems to keep her nose almost normal. The moisture & lubrication in the butter seem to help keep Abigail's nose almost normal except for some lost pigment. A very useful product & we plan to continue the regime.

I noticed my Brussels Griffon has "crusties" on her nose. After a quick search, found out it was hyperkeratosis, a pretty common condition that BGs can get. I ordered Blissful Dog Nose Butter on the recommendation of another BG owner. While waiting on it's arrival (about 3 days) I rubbed some Castor Oil on her nose. Then I used the Blissful Dog Nose Butter for 5 days. The crusties are completely gone! But my BG still comes for her "makeup" every evening! LOL! Emailed pics.

Better than anything I've tried!
I have used almost everything and nothing helped my dogs nose. My dog would get so upset when I would touch her nose. Since using your product my dogs nose looks amazing! She sees me get the little tin and jumps on the couch and waits for me to put it on her nose instead of the old running away and hiding she used to do. I'm a forever customer. It works for my dry hands as well!
