Everybody Has a Dog Photography Persona
Dog Photography Personas range from the Sheer Volume Optimist to the Balanced & Chill Photographer to the dyed-in-the-wool Old School Dog Photographer.
The best part of knowing your DPP (Dog Personality Personna) is you can decide if that is how you want to take photos of your dog or would you really rather be an Balanced & Chill or Artist.
Sheer Volume Optimist
You are firmly convinced that if you just take enough pictures one of them will be the one.
You take 273 photos of your puppy winking and waving his paw, convinced one of them will be utter perfection. You consider Burst Mode a wondrous invention.
The Artist
Photography is a true hobby, make that a passion for you. You have an actual DSLR (digital single lens reflex camera).
You approach each picture taking session as if it were a major shoot. You scout the location, plan the best lighting, determine the best angles.
Your photographs always garner a LOT of Likes on social media. Friends and family always invite you to birthdays, graduations, as they know you'll take great pictures.
Photography Perfectionist
You tend to go one of two ways. You take a lot, LOT of pictures and love the burst mode feature. Afterward you labor over each burst image going back and forth as you narrow it down. Every. Single. Image.
OR you never actually take any pictures as you wait for the stars in the heavens to perfectly align for each shot. That one time they did in 2001, you sneezed and missed the shot.
Old School Rules
You only take a few photos at a time as you don’t want to use up the room (memory) on your phone by being wasteful. You miss the days when you had film with 12 pictures and by golly, you took 12 pictures and that was it and you liked it.
When you do have a few shots you print them out, on paper, to decide which ones are good enough to keep.
Really Old School
You don't trust cameras that are inside a phone. You still have a couple of point and shoot cameras you use. Rumor has it you may have some disposable cameras, leftover from your wedding, that you're saving for your upcoming 20th Anniversary.
You have each picture printed and go through them while standing in the photo department of Walgreens or Walmart.
Balanced & Chill - Gets the Shot!
You keep your phone with you and have learned when to have it out and ready to snap.
You’re that person who gets good shots from every photo session. You have no trouble deleting the photos you don’t like and know you’ll never use.
You are what the rest of strive for in getting that perfect picture!
Now you know your Dog Photography Persona you can embrace it and have even more fun the next time you snap pics of your dog.
