CHIHUAHUA NOSE BUTTER® MOISTURIZING RELIEF FOR YOUR LITTLE FRIENDS ROUGH, DRY NOSE

CHIHUAHUA FACTOID: Did you know that Chihuahuas are the oldest dog breed on the American continent?

Some of those early Chihuahuas probably had some pretty rough noses...poor little dogs, they needed NOSE BUTTER®! Chihuahua dry nose issues are a lot more common than you might think. Many Chihuahuas have a bit of a dry or crusty nose. You can tell, their little nose just looks dull and not as moist as you know it should.

If their nose has extreme layers of crust or looks like it even has extra nose skin growing on top of the nose, it may be a very common condition. This condition may be Nasal Hyperkeratosis and more info is found HERE. Don't worry! Chihuahua NOSE BUTTER® was created for all ranges of Chihuahua nose dryness.

WHY A MOIST, HEALTHY NOSE IS IMPORTANT TO YOUR CHIHUAHUA

Your Chihuahua is probably not out in the fields tracking down birds, on the trail of escaped convicts or sniffing for bombs. Your Chihuahua may not have to sniff out much more than dropped Cheetos. But having a moist, healthy nose affects your Chihuahua's life on a lot of levels.

Your Chihuahua will be able to breathe much more easily without dry crust blocking his nostrils (nares). He will also feel better physically by having that crud gone from his nose! And, even though he uses his little nose for Chihuahua sized sniffing, THAT info is still a big deal to your dog.

Small dogs are well aware they are, well, SMALL. They know they are vulnerable to being stepped on, they know a big dog can shake them and do great harm, they know they are little. Of course, some of them ACT like they are Mastiff sized, the old "A best defense is a good offense" to front off that they are small. THINK BIG ACT BIG may be their motto. But deep inside they know they are fragile.

A healthy nose also allows your Chihuahua to sniff that Brutus is out in his yard next door and he can choose to stay inside until the big dog does his business and goes back inside.

HOW CHIHUAHUA NOSE BUTTER® HELPS YOUR DOG'S NOSE BE HEALTHIER

NOSE BUTTER is a rich moisturizer that quickly melts into your dog’s nose in layers to keep the good stuff coming.  First, the lighter oils soak in (like almond oil), then the heavier oils are absorbed (ones like castor oil) and last, the rich, yummy butters brings up the rear for maximum moisture and to act as a protective barrier (while still being light enough to let the skin of the nose breathe).

NASAL HYPERKERATOSIS INFO

NASAL HYPERKERATOSIS AKA CRUSTY CRUD, BARNACLE NOSE

Is your dog’s nose EXTREMELY dry? Does it look like barnacles are growing on it? Are there layers or chunks of crust that crack and bleed? If your dog’s nose could be described as  extremely dry, or looks like the BEFORE noses in the image above, it may be Nasal Hyperkeratosis. Rest assured, it is not caused by diet, genetics, playing in the dirt or anything you can control.

Nasodigital or Nasal Hyperkeratosis is an idiopathic condition, which means unknown cause ¯\(°_o)/¯ that is marked by the excessive formulation of nose crust that vets call keratin, (vet-speak for protein). It actually IS layers of skin tissue that has grown wild over on the nose. This condition isn't life-threatening and most veterinarians consider Nasal Hyperkeratosis cosmetic. But there are medical, cosmetic and mental health reasons that this dry nose condition can affect your dog's well being. It has to be uncomfortable for your dog. Your dog cannot breathe as easily. It’s unattractive, of course.

Most importantly, your dog is not getting the scents and smells they ned to feel secure and confident. A healthy moist nose snags good smells that float by and provide your dog with info. A dry nose is not going to capture the info packed smells. This can lead to frustration and a lack of self confidence. Your dog knows info is out there, but he cannot get it.
