Everyone LOVES to share pictures, stories and anecdotes about their dog's endearing (or maddening) antics! Can't you imagine your friend's face when she opens your gift and sees her sweet, senior Lab on the cover? She'll cherish thi gift for years to come. Or how about your sister's new puppy she surprisingly adopted? She was as surprised as everyone else. She is absolutely smitten and needs to get up to speed on his care.
Last year we offered a similar eHoliday Promo and realized we needed to provide a bit more info on the actual obtaining of the photos to create your gift with.
We LOVE this promo and are here to help you get the best picture you can. We want everyone, including us, to be thrilled with he result. Below are best tips on how to get the picture without hiring a private detective to get the pics!
Ethics Disclaimer:Online Ethics change so often it makes our virtual heads spin! If you're using a photo from someone's social media, we trust you know them well enough to know if that would bother them or not.
Back in the day, most web/internet images were small in size and resolution (quality). Phone cameras and digital cameras were in their infancy and a 2'x3" 72 PPI/DPI pixel per inch was standard. The Good News is phone cameras have dramatically improved! Stand-alone cameras are now only used by professionals or advanced hobbyists.
Images taken with relatively newer phones (no older than 5-ish years) or downloaded from social media will usually work for the purposes of this gift.
No more worries about DPI and PPI and 72 or 300 and so on! We have the ability to take GOOD pictures with our phones!
Official Blissful Disclaimer; If your image was taken with an iPhone 4 in 2010 it may need to be bigger dimensions aka 12" x 12". Otherwise we will work with any photo you send us!
Ask Them Directly - Sometimes the most obvious way is the easiest. Tell them you need a picture of some dogs for a craft project or a class you're taking.
Buddy System - Ask a relative or friend of theirs (swear them to secrecy) if they have or can easily get a picture for you.
The A Friend From Work Ploy - Tell them a work colleague is considering a new dog and you suggested one like theirs and now they want to see a picture.
Honesty Is The Best Policy - Or simply tell them you think their dog is so darn cute, you want a picture of them.
Kathy Disclaimer; My team said my glib excuses came a little too easily to me. I told them, I had no idea what they were talking about!
FIRST - Check Your Phone's Camera Roll - You may have snapped a picture of them and their dog, just the dog, etc. and have it sitting in your phone waiting to be re-discovered! Wouldn't that be sweet!
Sneaky Tips!Find out if/when they go to the Dog Park and casually drop by. Snap a few shots before they see you. Then you can say you were in the neighborhood and saw them and had to say Hi!
Drop By Sly - If you have a dropping-in kind of relationship with them, drop-in and take a few sly pictures.
Take a Pic - You may choose to go all puparazzi & snap a picture of their dog when they aren’t looking. If they ask why you took their dog's photo, swear they must be mistaken, that you most certainly did NOT!
On a PC left-click and HOLD the left mouse/touchpad button, keep holding and drag the picture to your desktop or folder you want the image to go into. Let go and the image should be where you want it to be.
On a Mac select the image you want to drag. Keep pressing the image and hold the trackpad or mouse while you drag the item to a new location. Let go of the mouse or trackpad to drop it where you want it.
If you have any issues with that method, press and hold the Option key while you drag the image. Release the trackpad or mouse to drop the item in the new location.

Larkan, our resident smooth Brussels Griffon, volunteered to explain the intricacies of screen grabbing and screenshotting.
Larkan is vexed as to why screen grab is two words and screenshot is one.
