WEIMARANER NOSE BUTTER® HELPS KEEP YOUR DOG'S NOSE IN A+ CONDITION

The Weimaraner is often called the Grey Ghost, for obvious reasons. The short, smooth coat is found in 50 shades of grey (I could not help it, apologies) from a pale mouse to dark silver gray. While, the Weim coloration is an eye-catching aspect of their good looks, their eyes are also!

Weimaraner's, like many of their sporting cousins, have a tendency toward dry or crusty nose issues. The problems can range from the nose being a bit dry to full blown nasal hyperkeratosis. Luckily, Weimaraner NOSE BUTTER® was created to deal with all ranges of dry nose problems.

NOSE BUTTER® FOR YOUR WEIMARANER

NOSE BUTTER is a rich moisturizer made here in MN using ingredients that soak into your dog’s nose in layers. The lighter oils, such as almond oil soak in fast, then the next level of oils are absorbed, like olive oil or castor oil, then the shea butter and cocoa seed butter melts in, acting as a super moisturizer and light barrier of protective goodness.

Of course, it is always light enough for the nose leather skin to breathe and absorb the juicy smells your dog loves.

YOUR WEIMARANER'S SENSE OF SMELL IS HIS CANINE SUPERPOWER

In addition to their unique coloration that allows them to move virtually unseen through the morning mists, the Weimaraner also has a sharp sense of smell. All those centuries of breeding for sniffing out game (from birds to bears) has given the Weimaraner a powerful legacy of sniffing mojo.

If the nose leather (skin) is dry, the info-packed smell particles your dog gets all the scoop from won’t adhere to it and your dog will miss out on all the info. Seriously, FOMO for your dog!

HAPPY, HEALTHY NOSE = HAPPY, HEALTHY WEIMARANER

Also, if your Weimaraner has a dry nose that isn't gathering info as needed, he may lose some of his confidence, he may feel unsure of himself and become a bit stressed or anxious. NOSE BUTTER actually helps your dog stay secure and confident by giving him back his info gathering healthy, moist nose.

BIT OF WEIMARANER HISTORY

weimaraner historyThe Weimaraner is a product of selective German breeding and comes from the same general stock as many other German hunting breeds. In the early 1800s a group of German noblemen banded together to produce a hunting dog that would be unrivaled in intelligence, bravery, scenting power, strength and stamina to go all day.

Originally known as the Weimer Pointer (derived from the court that sponsored the breed), they quickly gained favor in their native Germany.

It is believed the Bloodhound, Great Dane, various local Pointers and native silver/grey German dogs were used as the basis for the Weimaraner. They were originally used to hunt wolves, deer and bear. As Germany became more populated the huge estates of the nobility were carved up and ended the hunting of bigger game. The Weimaraner then become a bird dog and personal hunting companion.

NASAL HYPERKERATPSIS YOUR DOG'S EXTREMELY DRY NOSE

 NASAL HYPERKERATOSIS

NASAL HYPERKERATOSIS AKA CRUSTY CRUD, BARNACLE NOSE

Is your dog’s nose EXTREMELY dry? Does it look like barnacles are growing on it? Are there layers or chunks of crust that crack and bleed? If your dog’s nose looks like the BEFORE noses in the image above, it may be Nasal Hyperkeratosis. Rest assured, it is not caused by diet, genetics, playing in the dirt or anything you can control. And the good news is Nose Butter® works on it!

Nasodigital or Nasal Hyperkeratosis is an idiopathic condition, which means unknown cause ¯\(°_o)/¯ that causes excessive formulation of dry crust that vets call keratin, (vet-speak for protein). It actually IS layers of skin tissue that has grown wild over on the nose.

This condition isn't life-threatening and most veterinarians consider Nasal Hyperkeratosis cosmetic. But there are medical, cosmetic and mental health reasons that this dry nose condition can affect your dog's well being. It has to be uncomfortable for your dog. Your dog cannot breathe as easily. It’s unattractive, of course.

Most importantly, your dog is not getting the scents and smells they need to feel secure and confident. A healthy nose snags good smells that float by and provides your dog with info. A dry nose is not going to capture the info packed smells. This can lead to frustration and a lack of self confidence.

You know you feel when have NO SERVICE as you drive in an unfamiliar area? Probably frustrated, anxious and maybe terrified. Your dog experiences those same emotions when they can't get the info they need to make good dog decisions.
