Like many of the toy dog breeds, the Papillon can suffer from a dry or even crusty nose. Papillons are also prone to a nose condition Nasal Hyperkeratosis. This is an extremely dry nose condition that causes layers of crusty nose tissue to grow across your dog's nose. It can even look like barnacles or crusty layers.
If your Papillon's nose has layers of crusty or chunks of tissue, they may have Nasal Hyperkeratosis. This condition is of unknown causes, but our research leads us to believe it is typed to a slightly lowered immune system that many of the dogs with extreme body types have; extremely big, extremely small, extremely flat-faced, extremely bully.
