The Weimaraner is often called the Grey Ghost, for obvious reasons. The short, smooth coat is found in 50 shades of grey (I couldn't help myself) from a pale mouse to dark silver gray. Not only are they lovely dogs esthetically, but they are also one of the best-hunting dogs. Did you know Weimaraners were used by royalty for hunting large game such as; boar, bear, and deer?
In addition to their unique coloration that allows them to move virtually unseen through the morning mists, Weimaraners have a sharp sense of smell. All those centuries of breeding for sniffing out the game (from birds to bears) has given them a powerful legacy of sniffing mojo.
