Collies are famous for their lush, glorious coats. While there are smooth Collies, most of us think of Collies frolicking through meadows with that perfect coat bouncing. While I'm showing my age, but I grew up watching Lassie and the bond she had with Timmy. The Lad a Dog book series by Albert Payson Terhune, written in 1919, were also a favorite series of mine.
