The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a gentle, sensitive, sweet soul. Of course, it is our job to protect such a loving dog from the stress and anxiety caused by thunderstorms, fireworks, trips to the groomer or vet or even being left alone. Cavaliers originally were bred to live in a pack (pack is too undignified a word for Cavaliers, let's say a group of like-minded dog friends). They quickly stole the hearts of those who met them and the like-minded Spaniels became the darlings of royalty and the court.
Just as people have stress triggers, such as spiders, snakes, heights, so do our dogs. For many dogs thunder, fireworks, and being alone are big triggers.
