Reward for Bravery Legend has it that Buddha was traveling with a little dog that was somewhat like today's Shih Tzu. A gang of bandits attacked them and the little dog turned into a lion and chased the would-be thieves away. Buddha was so grateful he planted a big kiss on the top of the dog's head.
That spot turned white and is known as the "Star Of Buddha." Why not "Buddha's Kiss" or the "Kiss of Buddha?" Legend only knows.
