For ten years or so, we've gone around and around over what to call our products that are NOT labeled with different dog breed labels. At one time, we used Just A Nose and the SpokesDog was a cool kinda dog. We were going for a The Dude Abides, Jeff Bridges vibe or maybe Sam Elliot. This was a cool dog who, when asked what kind of dog he was, would cock his head and drawl, "Hey, I'm Just a Dog, that's all you need to know." In my mind, Netflix or Hulu would be calling for movie rights. Turns out nobody else got my whole dog, who was too cool for definition. Of course, we had no idea Just a Dog was offensive to some. So, that concept was deleted, but we continued to ponder how to categorize something for ease of shopping without being disrespectful.
Upon perusing one of my fave books, Merriam-Webster's Thesaurus, a word that has always spoken to me popped up, and so we now have...The Quintessential Dog Collection! This collection includes products with labels that are not a specific dog breed but needed MORE for their imaging (in my opinion, at least).
