Caring for Your Neapolitan Mastiff

Like the rest of the Mastiff family, the Neapolitan Mastiff often struggles with a dry nose, rough paws, elbow calluses and sometimes itchy skin issues. Plus, they do need a bath every now and then!

Our Shopping Portal page showcases everything that features the Neapolitan Mastiff on the label, plus, other products that may benefit your Neo that aren't breed specific. Here's a very quick bit on Neapolitan Mastiff history.

Neapolitan Mastiff Ancestry

The Molossus was an ancient war dog, a gladiator dog who fought beside the soldiers, often wearing armor with lethal blades attached to it. Caesar brought them back from England after he invaded in 55 BC, where they then fought in the arenas beside human gladiators and sometimes against.

It has long been thought the Molossus was the ancestor of all mastiff type and giant herding dogs, but that theory has come under scrutiny with advances in testing and dating. Time and DNA will tell.
