Husky? Alaskan Husky? Siberian Husky? Malamute? What's the Difference?

In a nutshell, the Alaskan Malamute is bigger and heavier and built to pull heavy loads. They have the chunkiest head of the three and just look like MORE.

The Alaskan Husky is a type of dog, not a breed. They usually look like a taller, leaner Siberian Husky. They are bred to RUN, so any dog will be crossed into the mix that can run hard and fast.

The Siberian Husky is not as big as the Malamute and leaner in overall appearance. The Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute are specific breeds recognized by most major kennel clubs, including the AKC.
