Great Pyrenees Collection for Pyr Bliss

Grooming & Skin Care for Your Great Pyrenees

Our Shopping Portal page showcases everything that features the regal Great Pyrenees on the label, plus, other products that may benefit your Pyr. Tip! Some of our Pyr clients bathe their Pyrs first with Stinky Filthy Dog Shampoo to get the pasture smell off them and follow up with Razzle Dazzle to get the coat white again.

One of the greatest privileges in my life was having a Great Pyrenees named Zoe as my best friend. We got her at two and she lived to be 13 years old. She is one of those dogs that no one who meets them ever forgets. We will forever be grateful to have had the privilege of Zoe watching over us all and loving and caring for us. We miss you, sweet girl.

Great Pyrenees Factoids

  • The Great Pyrenees is also known as Le Grande Chien des Montagnes (meaning "the big dog of the mountains"), Le Chien des Pyrenees (or "the dog of the Pyrenees") and the Pyrenean Mountain Dog
  • The Great Pyrenees has double dewclaws on their back legs. While not known for sure why there are theories; one is the extra dewclaws helped Pyrs navigate the mountains and the other is to prove the dogs were not wolves/wolf-hybrids for taxation purposes (I'm going with the second one)
  • General Lafayette brought a pair of Pyrs to the United States as a gift for a friend in 1824
  • The Great Pyrenees guard their charges by barking as they trot in circles around the area they protect
