Keeping Your Coton de Tulear Blissful

Shop everything Blissful for your royal Coton de Tulear. Our Shopping Portal page showcases everything that features the Cotton de Tulear on the label, plus other products selected for your Coton.

The Coton's unique coat, which gives them the Coton name, is lovely to behold, but can be a heckuva hard time to keep from twisting, tangling, knotting and matting. Our Shine-On+Sheen Coat Spray offers unparalled help in keeping your Coton's coat safe.

The name means "Cotton" in French and Tulear was the island port on Madagascar where they were bred and cultivated. The name is pronounced "coTAWN day two-LEE are." Closely related to the Bichon Frise and Maltese, the Coton is its own breed and is recognized as such by most registries.

A Shipwreck Happy Ending

It is said the Coton de Tulear developed from little white dogs who survived a shipwreck near Madagascar (off the SE coast of Africa). While no one is totally sure if their survival was a remarkable gift from the sea or a sweet story told to children and dog lovers, the result is the same. The Coton de Tulear is a quintessentially happy-natured, beautiful little dog.  OMG, the Gilligan's Island song is stuck in my head. That makes me officially OLD.
