The Anatolian Shepherd Ancient Livestock Guard Dog of Turkey

The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a native of Turkey, where they were bred as livestock guardian dogs.

It is believed their origins go back over 6000 years when early Mesopatamian dogs were brought with nomadic sheepherders. They were bred for size, power, and fearless temperament, all of which they retain in today's Anatolians

They have also been called the Anatolian Karabash Dog or Kangal dog. Today's Anatolians can be 150-160 pounds of muscle and protectiveness. For ranchers in the western USA they are close to a perfect breed...for those able to handle such an independent dog.

The Anatolian Shepherd collection showcases products with Anatolian Shepherd labels, plus other products that would be ideal for their care kit. Congratulations on sharing your life with such an ancient and majestic breed.
