THE BLISSFUL DOG IS HTTPS SSL SECURE
THE BLISSFUL DOG IS NOW ALL HTTPS SSL SECURE
Ensuring your shopping safety is a BIG DEAL to us. We want you to know that we went the extra mile to make 100% sure your identity and hard-earned cash is safe here.
For the last few years I have operated TheBlissfulDog.com with a private SSL certificate. But I set it up to where the SSL kicked in when you added items to the cart and then started the payment process. I realized that many shoppers may not have known that the little lock in the browser appeared when you began the payment part. So, after much agonizing (the only way I know to roll – agonize, obsess and research) the decision as made to switch the entire site to https.
“How does that affect ME?” you may be thinking. Well, probably not much at all. You may notice the little lock and that the address is now https and that is about all the difference. My team and I are busy double checking links, images and all that techie geek stuff to make sure nothing was shifted during this change of address.
Thanks for your patience during this process and if you have ANY questions, contact me.
WHAT THE HECK DOES HTTPS and SSL ACTUALLY MEAN???
If you see https, the session between the web server and the browser on the mobile device you are using is encrypted. You can easily identify web servers that have https configured by looking at the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) in the web address bar of your browser.
Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (https) is a combination of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) with the Secure Socket Layer (SSL)/Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. TLS is an authentication and security protocol widely implemented in browsers and Web servers. SSL works by using a public key to encrypt data transferred over the SSL connection. Most Web browsers support SSL. It allows you to communicate securely with the web server. –from Healthit.gov
